Alara Resources Limited Provides Update on Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper Project

Alara Resources Limited has announced the progress of commissioning activities at its Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper-Concentrate Production Plant. The dry, wet, and hot commissioning activities, which began in November 2023, are still in progress.

The commissioning process faced a setback due to a manufacturing defect in the high-speed couplings of the SAG Mill, which is currently being resolved by the supplier. Additionally, the commissioning dates for blowers and filters were rescheduled due to year-end holidays for the commissioning engineers.

Power Connection and Commissioning Stages

The power connection to the plant was successfully established in November 2023 following the clearance of government processes. The initial stages of commissioning, including the dry and wet commissioning of the crushing & COSP section, have been completed with equipment ready for operation. This includes the rock breaker, apron feeder, and primary crusher.

Alara Resources Limited anticipates the hot commissioning of the entire plant to begin in February 2024. This stage will involve feeding the plant initially with zero/low-grade copper ore, followed by quality copper ore, leading to the production of copper concentrate. icon
