Alpha HPA Begins Second Stage of World’s Largest Ultra-High Purity Aluminium Refinery Construction

Alpha HPA has officially commenced the second stage of construction on what will become the world’s largest single-site ultra-high purity aluminium materials refinery. The new facility, located in Gladstone, Australia, represents a major milestone for the company, which specializes in producing sustainable, ultra-high purity aluminium products in commercial quantities.

The project is backed by substantial financial support, including a $400 million debt facility from the Australian Government and $180 million in equity funding. Alpha HPA will utilize its proprietary, Australian-developed process technology to refine aluminium with ultra-high purity. The 10-hectare site will expand on the operations established during the first stage of the plant’s development.

Rimas Kairaitis, Alpha HPA’s Managing Director, described the second stage of construction as a significant achievement for the company, the Gladstone community, and Australia’s high-tech manufacturing sector. “This not only underscores our commitment to innovation but also solidifies our position as a global leader in ultra-high-purity aluminium materials,” Kairaitis stated.

The plant will produce a diverse range of low-carbon, ultra-high-purity aluminium materials for high-tech applications, including semiconductors, lithium-ion batteries, and LED lighting. icon
