ALRO Enters New Supply Contract with Airbus

Contract Details

ALRO, a notable aluminium producer from Romania, has finalized a fresh multi-year deal with Airbus. This agreement involves the provision of Aluminium Flat Rolled Products essential for the construction of aircraft.

Historical Context and CEO’s Statement

Gheorghe Dobra, the CEO of ALRO, briefly commented on the contract, noting the company’s ability to meet aerospace standards in a fluctuating market. The agreement follows a pattern of consistent quality and supply from ALRO to various industries, aerospace being among the more demanding.

This contract isn’t the first instance of collaboration between the two companies, with a similar agreement taking place in 2016.

Investment and Certification

Over the past 20 years, ALRO’s strategy has involved substantial financial investment to enhance technology and production capabilities, amounting to more than USD 885 million. These initiatives were geared towards product diversification and technological advancements.

On the certification front, ALRO has obtained the NADCAP certificate, meeting specific aerospace industry standards. This certification required thorough testing procedures on ALRO’s aluminium alloys, affirming the company’s compliance with global aerospace manufacturing standards.

This contract renewal underscores ALRO’s ongoing involvement in the aerospace sector, though it does so without significantly altering its established market position or strategy.
