AO Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex Signs Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation with Chinese Company

On September 5, 2023, a Uzbek-Chinese business forum took place in Tashkent, within the framework of which events were held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” initiative and a conference on cooperation and exchange between China (Shandong) and Uzbekistan.

The aim of these events was to promote the joint utilization of the “Belt and Road” opportunities, further strengthen the benefits of cooperation, elevate the level of collaboration, and open up new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation at the local level between the Shandong province and Uzbekistan.

This prestigious event also saw the participation of the leadership and representatives of AO Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

During the event, the Chairman of the Board of AO Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, Abdulla Khursanov, and the Deputy General Manager of Shandong Gold Group Co., Ltd, Wang Lizhun, signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.

The document covers topics such as deep processing of copper, zinc, and other metals, mineral resource development, and the production of new types of products based on copper, zinc, cadmium, molybdenum, tungsten, and other rare metals.

According to this document, there is also a task defined for the joint training of talented technical specialists.

Representatives of this company visited the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex on September 4 of this year and discussed cooperation matters. In particular, the meeting addressed the issue of obtaining products through the deep processing of copper and other precious metals.

The Chinese guests also visited the observation platforms of the “Kalmakyr” mine and the “Yoshlik I” deposit, as well as the construction site of Copper Enrichment Plant No. 3, as reported by the AGMK information service.
