Armenia Reports Decrease in Copper and Zinc Concentrate Production in 2023

Decline in Copper and Zinc Concentrate Output

According to the National Statistics Committee, Armenia has witnessed a significant drop in its copper concentrate production in the first ten months of 2023. The production decreased by 10.1% year-on-year, amounting to approximately 235,500 tons. Additionally, the country experienced a 20.4% decline in zinc concentrate production, which totaled 6,523 tons during the same period.

Increase in Molybdenum Concentrate Production

Contrasting the downward trend in copper and zinc, Armenia saw a growth in molybdenum concentrate production. The output increased by 7.24%, reaching 20,421 tons.

Ferromolybdenum Production Down

The production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia also declined, decreasing by 19.2% compared to the first ten months of 2022. The total production during this period was reported to be 6,336 tons. icon
