Armenia Sees Decline in Copper and Zinc Concentrate Production in 2023

Armenia’s copper concentrate production experienced a decline of 5.8% in the 12-month period of 2023, totaling approximately 289,608 tons, according to the National Statistics Committee. This decrease highlights challenges in the metal production sector within the country.

Furthermore, zinc concentrate production witnessed a significant reduction of about 18%, amounting to 8,161 tons. In contrast, the production of molybdenum concentrate saw an increase of 4.6%, reaching 23,353 tons, showcasing a silver lining amidst the downturns in copper and zinc outputs.

The production of ferromolybdenum also faced a decline, with a 15.6% decrease reported, resulting in a total output of 7,738 tons during the same period.
