Atlantic Lithium Prepares Ewoyaa Project for Construction

Development Progress and Construction Plans

Atlantic Lithium has updated its progress on the Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana, aiming to start construction by late 2024 and initial production in early 2025. The project received a Bulk Customer Permit for electricity, promising significant power cost reductions. The company is in the process of finalizing key contracts, including the Engineering Procurement Construction and Management (EPCM) contract, and is tendering for a mining contractor and a modular Dense Media Separation (DMS) unit. The contract for relocating transmission lines across the project area is expected in the second quarter of 2024.

Study Outcomes and Resource Estimates

A recently completed Flotation Scoping Study supports the addition of a downstream flotation circuit to the project. Atlantic Lithium anticipates releasing a maiden feldspar Mineral Resource Estimate in the fourth quarter of 2023 and is exploring the feasibility of producing feldspar as a by-product. Additionally, the company is working with Mincore to evaluate the establishment of a downstream lithium conversion plant in Ghana, with findings due in early 2024.

Leadership and Team Expansion

To support its transition from exploration to production, Atlantic Lithium has appointed three General Managers, including one focused on Operations. This expansion aims to enhance the company’s operational capabilities with seasoned professionals experienced in mine building and management.

Community Engagement and Strategic Importance

The Ewoyaa Lithium Project, poised to be Ghana’s first lithium mine, holds significant value for local communities and the Ghanaian economy. The project is seen as a crucial contributor to Ghana’s role in the global lithium supply chain, essential for the electric vehicle and clean energy industries.
