BEP Surface Technologies and Carbodeon Collaborate on Nanodiamond Copper Coating

BEP Surface Technologies, a specialist in electroplating, has entered into a strategic partnership with nanodiamond manufacturer Carbodeon to develop the world’s first copper-nanodiamond composite coating. This collaboration aims to create a novel material with enhanced thermal conductivity and improved wear resistance.

Nanodiamonds, microscopic diamond particles, possess unique structures that significantly improve the performance of metal coatings. By combining nanodiamonds with copper, the new coating could lead to advancements in various industries. The partnership, formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), combines BEP’s expertise in metal coatings with Carbodeon’s leading position in nanodiamond technology.

Under the agreement, BEP has exclusive UK rights to develop and produce nanodiamond-infused copper and electroless nickel coatings. These innovations are expected to enhance the durability and thermal performance of components used in industries such as paper, packaging, oil and gas, polymer processing, and manufacturing. BEP’s innovation arm, BEP Solutions, will spearhead the research and development efforts for these cutting-edge materials. icon
