Core Lithium Appoints Paul Brown as New CEO

Core Lithium has announced the appointment of Paul Brown as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 4, 2024, following an extensive domestic and global search.

The appointment of Mr. Brown follows the departure of former CEO Gareth Manderson. The recruitment process was conducted by the respected executive search firm Derwent. Mr. Brown was selected for his extensive leadership experience in the Australian resources industry, including roles with Hastings Technology Metals, Mineral Resources Ltd, and Fortescue Ltd.

Mr. Brown brings 25 years of experience in the Australian resources sector. He is currently the CEO of Hastings Technology Metals, an Australian rare earths mining company based in Perth. Prior to this, he spent eight years at Mineral Resources, rising to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Lithium and Iron Ore. In this role, he oversaw the safe and efficient operation of the company’s iron ore and lithium operations.

During his tenure at Mineral Resources and Fortescue, Mr. Brown played a crucial role in delivering major mining operations, including the Solomon Hub, the Mount Marion and Wodgina lithium projects, and the Wonmunna iron ore mine. His leadership and experience are expected to drive Core Lithium’s growth and development in the coming years. icon
