GV Gold plans to achieve the technical launch of the “Svetlovskiy” Mining Plant and produce its first gold by 2025. The facility will process up to 3.5 million tons of ore per year and produce up to 3.1 tons of gold once the factory reaches its designed capacity. This was discussed during a meeting in Moscow between the Governor of the Irkutsk Region, Igor Kobzev, and the management of GV Gold. The parties discussed the status of the investment project for the construction of the “Svetlovskiy” Mining Plant in the Bodaybo District, possible measures for regional support in creating infrastructure facilities, and further cooperation in the socio-economic development of the Irkutsk Region.
The Governor emphasized the importance of launching the new enterprise, noting that PJSC “Vysochaishiy” (GV Gold) marks its 25th anniversary with significant achievements.
“The implementation of the “Svetlovskiy” Mining Plant construction project will be a new stage in the development not only of the GV Gold group of companies but also of the entire Bodaybo District of the Irkutsk Region. The launch of the new facility will create up to a thousand new jobs, increase local procurement volumes, and contribute to the promising development of the region,” said Igor Kobzev.
Since the beginning of the year, the enterprise has received positive expert opinions on project documentation for construction objects and construction permits. Large ore processing equipment for the future gold extraction plant has been delivered to the site. Currently, construction of a modern workers’ settlement and key facilities of the gold processing complex is underway, along with the installation of mobile communication.
The parties also discussed the possibility of state support for the further development of energy and transport infrastructure facilities necessary for the implementation of the investment project and the socio-economic development of the nearby settlements of Svetly and Kropotkin. The “Svetlovskiy” Mining Plant construction project is being carried out taking into account the interests of the local population, aiming to improve their quality of life and enhance the infrastructure of the Bodaybo District.
