Copper Sales and Production Targets Set

KGHM Polska Miedz, a major player in the copper industry, has outlined its ambitious targets for 2024. The company is set to sell 593,200 tonnes of payable copper, as per the group’s latest market filing. This projection aligns with the company’s growth strategy and market expectations.

Details on Copper Production

In addition to sales, KGHM Polska Miedz is geared up to produce significant amounts of copper. The company’s production plan includes 391,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate and 569,200 tonnes of electrolytic copper. Notably, 370,400 tonnes of this electrolytic copper will be produced from the company’s own resources, highlighting its self-sufficiency in the production process.

Capital Expenditures and Cost Projections

KGHM Polska Miedz has also detailed its capital expenditure plans for 2024. The company expects in-kind capital expenditures to reach PLN 4.1 billion (approximately EUR 948 million). Other capital expenditures are projected to be around PLN 1.49 billion (approximately EUR 344.5 million). These investments are crucial for the company’s expansion and modernization efforts.

Unit Total Cost of Copper Production

An important aspect of KGHM Polska Miedz’s budgetary planning is the unit total cost of copper production from its own inputs. The company anticipates this cost to be PLN 35,950 (around EUR 8.3k) per tonne. This figure is essential for understanding the company’s efficiency and competitiveness in the market. icon
