Kings Aluminium Begins Construction of $204 Million Plant in Abu Dhabi

Groundbreaking of New Manufacturing and Recycling Facility

Kings Aluminium Industries has commenced construction of its new manufacturing and recycling plant in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (Kezad), with a total investment of AED 750 million ($204 million). The facility, spanning 100,000 sq m, has a 50-year lease agreement with Kezad.

Strategic Collaboration and Sustainability Focus

The plant will source raw materials from Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), Kezad Group’s anchor tenant in the metals sector. This partnership aligns with the UAE’s sustainability efforts, as the new plant aims to transform both virgin aluminium and its waste into reusable materials, thereby reducing the carbon footprint associated with aluminium production.

Innovative Manufacturing and Recycling Technology

Situated near EGA’s plant, Kings Aluminium will utilize advanced manufacturing and recycling technology, efficiently processing molten aluminium metal and billets, and repurposing various aluminium waste products.

Contribution to UAE’s Local Manufacturing and Circular Economy

The facility marks a key step in the UAE’s efforts to localize manufacturing, use local raw materials, enhance environmental and sustainability practices in production, and promote the circular economy.

Integration with Emirates Global Aluminium

Al Ahmed highlighted the facility’s integration with EGA, enhancing industrial ecosystem efficiency and reducing operational costs and environmental impact through collaborative operational strategies and shortened supply chains. icon
