Norsk Hydro Enters Contract with Sanvira Tech for Anode Supply

Norsk Hydro, an aluminum industry company, has established a contract with Sanvira Tech for the supply of carbon anodes. The agreement spans eight years, with the possibility of extension, aiming to provide a steady supply for Hydro’s aluminum smelters.

Contractual Supply Details

The contract stipulates that Sanvira Tech will supply up to 25% of the 600,000 tonnes of carbon anodes required yearly by Hydro’s Norwegian smelters.

Sanvira’s Production Facility

The carbon anodes will be produced at Sanvira’s new facility in Oman, which is under construction and expected to be operational by early 2025. Following completion, the facility will undergo qualification and performance testing for Hydro starting in the second quarter of 2025. icon
