Rio Tinto, a global leader in mining and metals, reported a successful third quarter in 2023, with its aluminum production climbing to 828,000 tonnes. This figure marks a 2% increase from the last quarter and a notable 9% jump year-over-year. Additionally, bauxite production rose to 13.9 million tons, up 3% from the previous quarter.
Despite these advances, the company remains cautious, maintaining its original 2023 production guidance. It projects aluminum production to stay between 3.1 and 3.3 million tons and bauxite output at the lower end of the anticipated 54-57 million tons.
