Rio Tinto and Prysmian Enter Five-Year Supply Agreement

Rio Tinto has signed a five-year supply agreement with cable solution provider Prysmian. This agreement is aimed at establishing a more sustainable supply chain in North America for materials used in power grid expansion.

Low-Carbon Aluminium Production

The agreement focuses on the production of low-carbon aluminium using renewable hydropower from Rio Tinto’s operations in Canada. This move is part of Prysmian’s initiative to decrease its carbon emissions.

Collaboration on Technology and R&D

Both companies will also enter a joint development agreement. This will allow them to combine their respective technologies, R&D capabilities, and technical expertise.
