Shyam Metalics, a Kolkata-based metal-producing group, has disclosed its ambitious plans to establish a greenfield aluminium project in Odisha with an investment of Rs 450 crore ($54.14 million USD). The proposed project aims to focus on the production of aluminium flat rolled products, boasting an annual capacity of 60,000 metric tonnes.
This significant investment marks Shyam Metalics’ strategic expansion into the aluminium sector, emphasizing the company’s commitment to diversifying its product offerings beyond its current focus on steel products, ferro alloys, and stainless steel. The initiative is anticipated to create 1,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, reinforcing Shyam Metalics’ role in fostering economic growth and employment in the region.
The move aligns with the growing demand for aluminium flat rolled products, essential for various industries, including automotive, construction, and packaging. This project not only strengthens Shyam Metalics’ portfolio but also positions the company to capitalize on the expanding market opportunities within the aluminium industry.
