Southern Palladium Advances Bengwenyama Project with Mining Right Application

Southern Palladium has taken a significant step forward with its Bengwenyama Platinum-Group Metal project by submitting a Mining Right Application (MRA) to South Africa’s Department of Mineral Resource and Energy (DMRE). Located on the Eastern Limb of the Bushveld Complex, the project is 70% owned by Southern Palladium.

This application marks the transition of the company from a pure exploration focus to a more development-oriented stance. The decision to proceed comes on the heels of a substantial 34% increase in the project’s total Mineral Resource, now standing at an impressive 25.11 million ounces.

Following this application, the next steps involve the commencement of specialized studies. These are designed to evaluate the potential socio-economic and biophysical impacts that the project’s operational activities might have on the region.

Furthermore, as part of the company’s commitment to keep stakeholders informed, a second interim resource update is slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2023. This update will incorporate results from the continuous drilling activities on the property.

The Bengwenyama project spans two farms, Nooitverwacht 324 KT and Eerstegeluk 327 KT, in the Limpopo Province, with a combined area measuring 5,280 hectares.
