Alconix, in collaboration with its wholly-owned subsidiary Soode Nagano, is set to launch "Soode Kansas Corporation," a new venture into the manufacturing of lithium-ion battery components in the United States. This strategic move, announced on November 28, 2023, and set to be formalized by January 31, 2024, marks a significant step into the expanding US market for battery production. With a capital injection of $7.15 million (approximately 1 billion yen), this initiative underscores a commitment to capturing both existing and emerging orders for battery components in regions witnessing a surge in demand.

Soode Nagano, based in Okaya, Nagano Prefecture, brings to the table its expertise in manufacturing precision metal stamping parts. The decision to set up operations in the US reflects a broader industry trend towards localizing lithium-ion battery production, a critical component in the global push towards electrification and renewable energy sources. With Soode Nagano holding a 90% stake and Alconix the remaining 10%, "Soode Kansas Corporation" is poised to become a key player in the supply chain for lithium-ion batteries, capitalizing on the growing demand in the North American market.

This venture not only aims to strengthen Alconix's foothold in the international battery component market but also aligns with the US's broader objectives to enhance its domestic manufacturing capabilities in the energy sector. As the global economy continues to shift towards sustainable energy solutions, initiatives like "Soode Kansas Corporation" are crucial in ensuring a resilient and locally supported supply chain for critical components like lithium-ion batteries.
