Aluminium Dunkerque restarts idled production capacity

Aluminium Dunkerque, one of Europe's largest aluminium smelters, has begun to relaunch production capacity that was idled last year due to soaring electricity costs. According to a spokesperson for the company the site, which halted around a fifth of its output in the fourth quarter, should reach full capacity by the end of May. The move follows an easing in French power prices and government support for energy-intensive industry.
