Aurubis is finalizing its Executive Board reorganization, announced in January, with new appointments effective September 1. The Supervisory Board has appointed Toralf Haag as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Tim Kurth as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the primary copper business. Inge Hofkens will continue as COO of the Multimetal Recycling division.

Haag joins Aurubis from technology group Voith, where he has served as CEO since October 2018. Kurth is currently the Managing Director of Aurubis Bulgaria and Plant Manager at the Bulgarian site in Pirdop.

In May, Aurubis announced the appointment of Steffen Hoffmann as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective October 1. This will bring the Aurubis AG Executive Board team back to four members. The company's strategic direction and growth initiatives will continue as planned.

The reorganization follows serious cases of fraud and theft at the Hamburg plant last year, leading to the departure of three Executive Board members before their contracts expired. Heiko Arnold, Chief Custom Smelting & Products Officer, left at the end of February. Chief Financial Officer Rainer Verhoeven will leave at the end of June, and Chief Executive Officer Roland Harings will hand over the chairmanship on August 31.
