Monthly Production Decrease
In November, China's primary aluminum production witnessed a 2.2% decrease, amounting to 3.54 million metric tons, compared to the previous month. This data, released by the National Bureau of Statistics, indicates a notable short-term dip in production levels.
Yearly Production Analysis
Despite the monthly decline, the cumulative production for the first eleven months of the year tells a different story. China produced a total of 38 million tons of aluminum during this period, marking a 3.9% increase from the same period last year.
Broader Nonferrous Metals Sector Growth
The production of a broader range of 10 nonferrous metals, including copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, and nickel, showed a year-on-year increase of 7.1% in November, reaching 6.5 million tons. The cumulative output for these metals in the first 11 months of the year also rose by 7.2%, totaling 67.96 million tons.
Diverse Non-Ferrous Metal Production
The production statistics also cover other non-ferrous metals such as tin, antimony, mercury, magnesium, and titanium. These metals, while not as predominantly featured as aluminum, contribute to the overall growth in the nonferrous metals sector.
