Rio Tinto (RIO.AX) announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Jérôme Pécresse as the new Chief Executive Officer for its aluminium segment, succeeding Ivan Vella, who is set to depart from the company by the end of this year.
Pécresse, a French citizen with a wealth of experience in senior leadership positions within global mining and energy companies such as General Electric and GE Renewable Energy, is scheduled to assume his role on October 23, as stated in a press release by the prominent mining corporation.
In fiscal year 2022, the aluminium segment accounted for approximately 25% of Rio Tinto's consolidated sales revenue, which amounted to $55.55 billion.
