Rosatom has approved an investment project by Rusatom Metalltech LLC, aimed at increasing the production capacity of heavy-duty copper-niobium alloy wires from 1 ton to 5 tons per year. This increase equates to up to 500,000 kilometers of wires annually.

The expansion is driven by rising demand from high-tech industries such as aerospace, railway transport, electric power, and electronics. A significant factor behind this demand is the federal space program, which requires ultra-thin wires for network antennas in telecommunications satellite repeaters and shielding materials for aerospace equipment against electromagnetic radiation.

Rosatom, a multidisciplinary holding company, combines assets in energy, mechanical engineering, and construction. Its activities include producing innovative nuclear and non-nuclear products, generating carbon-free electricity, enhancing scientific and technological capabilities, developing the Northern Sea Route, and undertaking environmental projects. Rosatom encompasses over 350 enterprises and organizations.
