Vale has clarified that the process of appointing a new President for Vale Base Metals (VBM) is still ongoing and has not yet been concluded. This statement comes in response to an article published by Bloomberg, which reported that veteran mining executive Shaun Usmar had been chosen to lead the company's base metals division.

The Bloomberg report suggested that Usmar, a seasoned figure in the mining industry, had been selected to oversee Vale's base metals operations as the company aims to enhance its copper and nickel production. However, Vale emphasized that the selection process is still in progress and no final decision has been made.

"Vale will inform the market about the definition of the president of VBM in due course," the company stated, indicating that an official announcement will be made once the decision is finalized.
