Integrals Power Unveils Pilot Plant for Advanced Battery Materials

July 19, 2024

Integrals Power, a UK-based company has launched a pilot plant capable of producing 20 tonnes of advanced battery materials annually. The facility demonstrates the scalability of the company's proprietary technology for producing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) nanomaterials, crucial for the future of electromobility.

Company founder and CEO Behnam Hormozi highlighted the significance of this development, stating, "We believe this is one of the first facilities of its kind in the UK, and is exactly the kind of state-of-the-art resource the UK battery industry needs in order to support the sustainable future growth of electromobility." The plant's design allows for the manufacturing of different grades of LFP nanomaterials tailored for various applications, from long-range electric vehicles to off-grid energy storage.

The pilot plant, designed by the company, is modular and can be scaled to produce volumes in the tens of thousands of tonnes. Raw materials for the production process are sourced from suppliers in Europe and North America.

The project is supported by multiple UK government grants, underlining the strategic importance of developing domestic capabilities in advanced battery materials.
