Iran’s Aluminum Production Reaches 352,423 Tons in First Four Months

Iran produced 352,423 tons of aluminum ingots during the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20 - October 21), according to data from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). In the previous year, the country produced 367,091 tons of aluminum ingot over the same seven-month period.

Among Iran's four major aluminum producers, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) led the way with 144,496 tons of production in the first four months, followed by Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO) with 100,998 tons, Almahdi Aluminum Company with 87,227 tons, and Iran Alumina Company producing 19,702 tons.

Iran's aluminum production for the past Iranian calendar year exceeded 635,000 tons, marking a slight 1% year-on-year increase despite energy restrictions. The total production stood at around 632,000 tons in the year before. Additionally, Iran Alumina Company produced 222,138 tons of alumina powder, 374,106 tons of alumina hydrate, and 598,599 tons of bauxite during the one-year period.

Officials estimate the value of Iran’s aluminum sector at $22 billion, sufficient to meet domestic demand. Currently, Iran ranks as the 18th largest aluminum producer in the world.
