Euro Sun Mining Advances Copper and Gold Mining Project in Romania

February 29, 2024

Euro Sun Mining is making significant progress on its Rovina Valley project, focused on copper and gold mining in Romania. Following agreements with the government, the project will prioritize copper production in line with the Critical Raw Materials Act adopted by the European Union (EU) in December last year.

Owning the entire share package of Rovina Valley, Euro Sun Mining's CEO, Grant Sboros, emphasized the project's compliance with all necessary standards and prioritized environmentally friendly production processes.

The construction of the Rovina Valley is expected to take approximately two years, with the initiation of copper and gold mining slated for mid-2026. The Romanian mine will operate as an open pit for 30-35 years, as reported by Mining Weekly, with potential future transition to underground mining.

This project marks the largest undertaking in Romania in the last 35 years. The government will receive 45% of Rovina Valley's final profits as per the agreement with the company.
