KGHM Reports Increase in Copper Sales in December; Overall Annual Production Declines

KGHM, a listed copper producer, reported a slight increase in its copper sales for December, with a total of 53,100 tonnes sold, marking a 1 percent year-on-year increase. This growth in sales was predominantly driven by KGHM International Ltd., while KGHM Polska Miedz S.A. and Sierra Gorda S.C.M. experienced lower sales.

Despite the uptick in December sales, the cumulative copper production of the KGHM Group for the year 2023 showed a decrease, totaling 710,900 tonnes, down from 733,000 tonnes in 2022. The overall copper sales for the year also saw a slight decline.

The report also noted changes in the production of other materials, including payable silver and molybdenum, showcasing a diverse production profile for the company.
