Novelis Sierre Plant Set to Resume Production After Flood Recovery

Novelis has announced the recovery and imminent restart of operations at its Sierre plant in Switzerland, following a severe flood in late June that caused significant damage. The company expects the plant to resume production by the end of October after successfully restoring major assets by the end of September.

The flood heavily impacted the plant’s casting, rolling, and finishing mills, hampering Novelis' ability to serve customers from the facility. However, thanks to the efforts of both Novelis employees and around 150 external specialists, the company has managed to recover swiftly.
