Rusal Finalizes Fleet of Rotary Kilns with $12.1 Million Investment

July 18, 2024

Rusal is nearing the completion of its fleet of rotary kilns, having invested 1.1 billion rubles ($12.1 million) in the project. This development aims to enhance the company's aluminum production capabilities, focusing on sustainability and efficiency.

The new kilns will enable Rusal to recycle and reprocess 17,000 tons of consumer aluminum scrap annually, significantly boosting the production of aluminum with low and ultra-low carbon footprints. To date, five facilities have been launched, with two additional high-capacity kilns currently being installed.

Furthermore, these rotary kilns are set to process approximately 40,000 tons of aluminum slag per year. These slags, produced by Rusal's aluminum plants and the Rusal Downstream division, contain nearly 40% aluminum, offering a substantial resource for recycling and reducing waste.
