Pure Lithium Acquires Dimien to Accelerate Lithium Metal Vanadium Battery Development

Boston-based Pure Lithium Corporation, a vertically integrated lithium metal battery technology company, has announced the acquisition of Dimien, a private U.S. company specializing in vanadium cathode materials. The acquisition includes all of Dimien’s intellectual property, manufacturing equipment, and its experienced team. This move is expected to expedite the development of Pure Lithium's lithium metal vanadium oxide (LVO) battery technology.

Dimien developed zeta vanadium oxide (ZVO), a vanadium-based cathode material known for its high energy density and safety, as it doesn't pose the fire risks associated with traditional NMC and NCA cathodes. Additionally, ZVO is made from materials sourced within North America, avoiding the use of minerals like nickel, cobalt, and graphite, which are typically obtained from regions with supply risks.

Dr. Brian Schultz, Dimien’s Founder and CEO, will join Pure Lithium as Vice President of Business Development and Technology, bringing along other members of the Dimien team. Schultz’s team has been instrumental in developing the ZVO cathode material, which has moved from a university project to commercially viable prototypes.
