Kathleen Quirk to Lead Freeport-McMoRan as New President and CEO

Freeport-McMoRan has announced a significant leadership transition with Kathleen Quirk being appointed as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective from the annual meeting of shareholders scheduled for June 11, 2024. In her new role, Quirk will take over the executive management responsibilities of the company, directly reporting to the FCX Board of Directors.

Richard Adkerson, the current Chairman of the Board of Directors, will continue in his role, offering support to the leadership transition and advising on strategic matters crucial to Freeport-McMoRan's ongoing and future operations.

Quirk's journey with Freeport began in 1989, covering a wide range of corporate functions including Tax, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, and Treasury before stepping into the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2003. Her leadership skills and comprehensive understanding of the company's operations were further recognized in 2021 when she was named President of FCX. In 2023, she was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors, marking her as a pivotal figure in the company's strategic planning and execution.
