Resouro Strategic Metal Advances Metallurgical Studies at Tiros Project in Brazil

Resouro Strategic Metal has announced a significant advancement in its metallurgical studies for the Tiros Titanium and Rare Earth Elements Project in Brazil. This update marks an important milestone in the development of the project, demonstrating the potential for high levels of rare earth extraction.

Following the release of the Company’s maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the Tiros Project on July 18, 2024, Resouro has completed the initial phase of its metallurgical strategy in partnership with Altilium Projects (Australia) Pty Ltd. The primary goal of this study was to maximize the extraction and recovery of rare earth and titanium minerals using Altilium’s patented technology, which focuses on acid regeneration with minimal acid loss and zero waste.

The metallurgical tests utilized a 50kg representative sample from five diamond drill holes compliant with the Tiros JORC resource. The extraction results are as follows:

– Total Rare Earth Yield (TREY): 80.8%

– Light Rare Earth Elements (LREE): 81.6%

– Medium Rare Earth Elements (MREE): 96.2%

– Heavy Rare Earth Elements (HREE): 74.8%

Chris Eager, President, CEO, Director, and Founder of Resouro, commented on the achievement, stating, “Completion of our first stage of the Altilium extraction assessment for the Central Block of the Tiros Rare Earth project marks a pivotal moment for Resouro Strategic Metals and the industry as a whole.”

These results, combined with the JORC mineral resource estimate, highlight the potential of the Tiros project to meet the global demand for a stable supply of critical rare earth minerals. The project is characterized by its thick, near-surface, and highly weathered clay-like material, which is conducive to efficient extraction.

Resouro plans to continue its metallurgical studies with Altilium while exploring options from more conventional metallurgical study paths. The ongoing work, including infill drilling for mine planning, feasibility, and environmental assessments, aims to position Resouro as a leader in the rare earth industry.

The company is committed to sustainable practices and positive community engagement, ensuring that its growth benefits the regions in which it operates. Resouro will provide ongoing updates as it progresses toward completing its Preliminary Economic Assessment. icon
