Arverne Group Subsidiary Secures Tubular Supply for Lithium Production
French industrial firm Arverne Group has announced that its subsidiary, Lithium de France, has entered into a framework agreement with Tenaris, a global manufacturer of tubular goods for the energy industry. The agreement includes the supply of casing and tubing for Lithium de France's geothermal heat and lithium project in Alsace.
As part of the agreement, Lithium de France has already placed an order for tubular components required for the project’s first well. These components will be manufactured in Italy by Tenaris and subsequently delivered to Alsace. The project aims to produce 27,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate (LC) annually by 2031.
Arverne Group’s geothermal and lithium project has achieved significant progress, including the successful completion of a pre-feasibility study (PFS). The study outlines plans to produce lithium carbonate at an estimated cost below €4,500 per tonne, placing it in the first quartile of the global cost curve for cash costs. This positions the project as a competitive player in the energy transition market.
With these developments, Arverne has confirmed that the definitive feasibility study (DFS) will commence in early 2025, marking a critical step towards the project’s realization.
