Black Cat Syndicate Pours First Gold at Paulsens Gold Operation

Black Cat Syndicate (ASX:BC8) has successfully poured its first gold bar at the restarted Paulsens Gold Operation in Western Australia. The milestone was achieved on December 22, following the refurbishment and commissioning of the site’s processing facility, completed on schedule and within budget.

The Paulsens site, located 180 kilometers west of Paraburdoo, includes an underground mine, a 450,000 tonnes-per-year processing facility, a 128-person camp, and potential open pits. The recommissioned ball mill is currently processing lower-grade material as part of the initial commissioning phase. Carbon stripping is expected to commence in January 2025, once the gold circuit reaches operational levels.

Managing Director Gareth Solly emphasized the significance of the achievement: “Our Paulsens team, combined with Maca Interquip, should be immensely proud that they have successfully achieved our targets and poured first gold safely, on time, and within budget. This is the perfect time to become a gold producer, and we are looking forward to targeting 100,000 ounces from our operation by the end of 2025.”

The company has also reported ongoing preparations to scale up operations. Mobile mining equipment is arriving throughout December, enabling mechanized mining to begin ramping up in January 2025.

Black Cat Syndicate operates three key gold projects in Western Australia: Paulsens, Coyote, and Kal East. The company’s diversified portfolio underscores its strategy to grow its gold production capabilities.

As of December 22, the spot price of gold was $4,205.84 per ounce, according to ABC Bullion.
