Kamoa-Kakula and Kipushi Achieve Record Production in Q3 2024

Ivanhoe Mines reported record production at its Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex and Kipushi zinc mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for Q3 2024. Kamoa-Kakula produced 116,313 tonnes of copper in concentrate, while Kipushi produced 17,817 tonnes of zinc in concentrate during its ramp-up phase.

Kamoa-Kakula's Phase 3 concentrator, which began producing in June, is ramping up and nearing steady-state throughput. Year-to-date copper production stands at 303,328 tonnes. The Phase 1 and 2 concentrators produced 94,214 tonnes of copper during the quarter, while Phase 3 produced 22,099 tonnes.

Kipushi's 2024 zinc production guidance has been adjusted to 50,000-70,000 tonnes, with the concentrator currently achieving recoveries above 90% as ramp-up continues.

On-site power generation capacity at Kamoa-Kakula increased to 135 MW, with plans to reach 201 MW by year-end. Imported power from the Southern African Power Pool is expected to rise to over 100 MW by year-end.

Ivanhoe Mines will release its Q3 2024 financial results and hold an investor conference call on October 30.
