Ivanhoe Mines Sets New Production Records at Kamoa-Kakula and Kipushi Mines in Q3 2024

Ivanhoe Mines, Inc. has reported record production figures for the third quarter of 2024 at its Kamoa-Kakula copper mine and Kipushi ultra-high-grade zinc mine, both located in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The Kamoa-Kakula mine, one of Ivanhoe Mines' flagship projects, achieved a new milestone in the third quarter of 2024, producing a record 116,000 tons of copper in concentrate. This significant achievement not only marks the highest production to date but also highlights the mine's efficiency in mining, processing, and refining operations.

Year-to-date production at Kamoa-Kakula reached 303,000 tons of copper in concentrate by the end of the third quarter, positioning the mine on track to meet its full-year production targets. Additionally, September saw record monthly output, with 40,000 tons produced. Daily copper production also peaked, with the highest daily output reaching 1,334 tons, and an average of 1,460 tons per day during the last week of September. These figures underscore Ivanhoe Mines' improvements in productivity, adding significant revenue and competitive advantage for the company.

The Kipushi ultra-high-grade zinc mine also posted impressive results, producing 18,000 metric tons of zinc in concentrate during the third quarter of 2024. This output not only meets market demand but also reinforces Ivanhoe Mines' strong position in the global zinc mining sector.
