KGHM Forecasts Copper Production and Costs for 2025
KGHM, a listed copper group, has outlined its production and financial expectations for 2025, with significant contributions from its domestic and international operations. According to a market filing, KGHM Polska Miedź, a key unit of the group, is projected to sell 572,900 tonnes of payable copper in 2025. The unit’s production targets include 392,300 tonnes of copper in concentrate and 567,100 tonnes of electrolytic copper, with 375,400 tonnes derived from its own inputs.
Internationally, KGHM International’s payable copper production is forecast at 52,100 tonnes. Additionally, the Sierra Gorda operation, in which KGHM holds a 55% stake, is expected to produce 87,200 tonnes of payable copper.
The group also revealed planned in-kind capital expenditures of PLN 3.8 billion (EUR 891.5 million) for KGHM Polska Miedź, alongside other capital expenditures amounting to PLN 679 million (EUR 159.3 million). The anticipated unit cost of copper production from own inputs at KGHM Polska Miedź is set at PLN 35,375 (EUR 8,299) per tonne.
