European Energy Metals Expands Exploration Licenses in Finland

August 16, 2024

European Energy Metals has applied for five new Exploration Licenses (ELs) in Finland, increasing its total land holdings in the country to 15,770 hectares. The new ELs cover 10,220 hectares in the Kaustinen region, an area known for its potential in Lithium-Cesium-Tantalum (LCT) Pegmatites. These new licenses are strategically located near existing deposits and infrastructure, including the spodumene concentrator plant under construction by Sibanye-Stillwater/Keliber.

The company has been active in the area since May 2024, conducting a comprehensive exploration program that includes data compilation, geological mapping, trenching, geophysics, and sampling. The aim is to refine targets for a diamond drilling campaign scheduled for the fall. Previous exploration in 2023 led to the discovery of lithium-rich spodumene pegmatite mineralization, particularly at the Kyrola Prospect, where significant lithium concentrations were found in rock samples.

European Energy Metals' ongoing exploration and the expansion of its licenses underline the region's growing importance for lithium resources, especially given its proximity to other major deposits and the development of a complete lithium supply chain in the area.
