Significant Lithium Discoveries at Midland’s Galinée Project with Rio Tinto
Assay Results and Project Developments
Midland Exploration and Rio Tinto Exploration Canada have reported new assay results from their recent work at the Galinée project. The partnership's latest fieldwork has led to the identification of lithium-bearing spodumene pegmatite dikes. The most notable discovery at the Iceberg showing revealed a 600-meter strike with lithium oxide (Li2O) grades up to 7.2%.
Sampling Details
Out of the 26 grab samples collected, Li2O content varied, with a high of 7.2%. The discoveries span multiple outcrops suggesting a significant alignment of spodumene occurrences. These findings occur along a major geological contact that extends over 7 kilometers, an area not previously known for lithium potential.
Exploration and Analysis Protocol
Following these findings, Midland is planning a drilling campaign to further investigate the scope of the discovery. The company ensures accuracy in their findings by employing a range of geochemical analysis methods, supplemented by the use of control samples.
