Fortuna Silver Mines Announces Q3 2023 Production Results

October 5, 2023

Fortuna Silver Mines has reported its highest-ever gold and gold equivalent production for Q3 2023 from its mines in West Africa and Latin America. The production figures for the quarter are 94,821 ounces of gold and 1.7 million ounces of silver, totaling 128,671 gold equivalent ounces when considering lead and zinc by-products. The cumulative production for the first nine months of the year reached 219,260 ounces of gold and 4.5 million ounces of silver, which equals 316,235 gold equivalent ounces.

Compared to Q2 2023, there was a 38 percent rise in gold equivalent production and a 47 percent rise in gold production. Year-on-year, gold production saw a 43 percent jump from Q3 2022. This surge was primarily due to the full quarter of production from the Séguéla mine and consistent performance across all operations. The company also updated Yaramoko's annual gold production guidance, estimating an increase of about 14 percent. Lastly, the company's safety record showed improvement, with a Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate of 0.86, a decrease from 2.36 in the same period the previous year.
