South Korea’s ALUKO Group to Manufacture Aluminum Battery Casings in Tennessee
South Korean-based ALUKO Group has announced plans to establish its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Jackson, Tennessee. The $36.3 million project will create 55 new jobs in Madison County and support operations at Ford Motor Company’s BlueOval City by producing aluminum battery casings.
This marks a significant step for the ALUKO Group, which comprises subsidiaries such as Hyundai Aluminium, Gogang Aluminium, Alutec, and others. The company currently employs approximately 4,500 people worldwide.
Tennessee has become a hub for South Korean investment, with companies from the country contributing more than $4.5 billion and creating nearly 3,500 jobs statewide since 2019. ALUKO’s decision further cements the state’s strong ties to South Korea and its reputation as a destination for foreign direct investment.
The new facility aligns with Tennessee’s focus on attracting global manufacturers and supporting the growing electric vehicle industry. Local and state leaders expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its potential to boost the regional economy and strengthen the manufacturing sector in Madison County.
