Boliden Faces $9.6 Million Loss Due to Strikes in Finland
Boliden, a prominent mining entity, has disclosed to Dagens industri (Di) the financial toll of ongoing strikes in Finland, estimating a loss of around 100 million SEK (USD 9.6 million). The company, which operates three facilities in the country—including one mine and two smelters—has experienced a notable reduction in production owing to the strikes.
In a neutral stance on the matter, Boliden's Communications Director, Klas Nilsson, conveyed to the newspaper that the company is not involved in the dispute and thus refrains from taking any position on the conflict. With the future outcomes of the strikes still uncertain, Boliden holds onto hope for a swift resolution and a return to normal operations, emphasizing the immediate need for an end to the production disruptions that have significantly impacted its financial health.
