Core Lithium Begins Drilling at Shoobridge Project
Core Lithium has announced the commencement of reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its 100% owned Shoobridge Project, located approximately 130 kilometers south of Darwin, Northern Territory. This marks one of the initial drilling programs under the company's FY25 exploration agenda.
Shoobridge, known for its historic pegmatite tin-tantalum surface workings, has not previously been tested for lithium potential. The project is strategically located about 80 kilometers by road southeast of Core's lithium processing plant. Apart from lithium, the area is recognized for its multi-commodity potential, with historical findings of gold, uranium, and base metals.
Core's CEO, Paul Brown, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, "We are thrilled to start the first-ever lithium drilling program at Shoobridge. This marks the start of an exciting FY25 exploration program for Core, and we look forward to delivering results that capture the value inherent in our tenement portfolio. We will be disciplined in our approach to exploration and pursue opportunities for meaningful mineral discoveries or with the potential for a high return on investment."
He emphasized that while the company is focused on positioning the Finniss Lithium Project for a future restart, projects like Shoobridge present exciting opportunities for growth and development.
Core plans to continue its targeted FY25 exploration program at Finniss and other 100% owned projects, with further updates to be provided as these programs progress.
