European Energy Metals Advances Lithium Exploration with New License Applications

November 14, 2023

Submission of Exploration Licenses

European Energy Metals has applied for two Exploration Licenses covering 4,550 hectares within the larger 11,690-hectare Nabba Reservation in Finland. The licenses, Nabba EL and Nabba 2 EL, are strategically located near the Keliber Projects of Sibanye-Stillwater and will enable the company to conduct detailed exploration activities.

Nearby Mining Developments

The Nabba ELs are positioned less than 8 kilometers from Keliber's Spodumene Concentrator Plant, signifying potential access to significant lithium-bearing mineralization. This area also includes known Li-spodumene pegmatite prospects, such as the Emmes Deposit, enhancing the prospects for European Energy Metals’ exploration.

Company's Exploration Program and Milestone

CEO Jeremy Poirier remarked on the importance of transitioning from reservations to exploration licenses, marking a crucial step in understanding the lithium potential on their projects. The company anticipates the completion of its Phase 1 exploration program and is preparing for its 2024 exploration initiatives.

Partnership and Project Background

The exploration efforts are part of an earn-in agreement with Capella Minerals Ltd, through which European Energy can earn an 80% interest in the Finnish Pegmatite Project. The project is located near the Keliber mine and production complex, set to commence production in the second half of 2025, aligning with Europe's push for environmentally friendly energy independence.
