Groupe Liébot Expands Internationally with New Plant in Spain Despite Market Challenges

March 22, 2024

Groupe Liébot, a leader in window and façade manufacturing in France, is pressing forward with its development strategy, focusing on social and environmental responsibility, and bolstering its international presence. Amid a market slowdown, the group announced plans for a new factory in Catalonia, Spain, representing an investment of 18 million euros.

In a year marked by a challenging market environment, Groupe Liébot recorded a sales increase of 11.7%, achieving 860 million euros. This growth comes despite the tense market conditions in France, Germany, Poland, and Italy, with Spain being relatively spared from these difficulties. The company, set to undergo a leadership transition to Patrice Bondy by year-end, has managed to maintain production levels thanks to a full order book at the start of 2023, although it faced a sharp decline in orders leading to adjusted production levels.

Highlighting its international strategy, the group's presence in Spain, Italy, Poland, and Germany, including a significant stake in the German company Pax, underscores its ambition to extend its market reach. The construction of a new K-Line factory in Lliço del Vall, north of Barcelona, aims to triple production for the Spanish and Portuguese markets by 2026.

In France, the CSR agenda is advancing with the Coralium aluminum foundry's construction, which will produce 40,000 tonnes of low-carbon aluminium billets. This initiative is part of Groupe Liébot's efforts to achieve a 30% decarbonization target by 2030 and 80% by 2050. Moreover, the launch of Cyclium, a service for dismantling commercial building facades for recycling, exemplifies the group's commitment to sustainability and circular economy principles.

Additionally, the Liébot Group's investment in photovoltaic panel installations across its sites reflects its dedication to contributing to France's industrial energy independence and addressing environmental challenges. This effort, combined with proactive packaging recovery initiatives, underscores the group's comprehensive approach to environmental stewardship.
