Rusal Boosts Aluminium Exports by 14.6% in Early 2024

March 6, 2024

Rusal has reported a significant increase in its aluminium exports, according to recent data from Russian Railways. In the first two months of 2024, the company's exports surged by 14.6% year-on-year, reaching 458,000 tonnes. This uptick follows a notable 30% year-on-year increase in January alone.

Overall, Rusal's aluminium transportation, including domestic shipments within Russia, rose by 14% year-on-year to 575,000 tonnes during the same period. Domestic shipments also saw a boost, with a 12% increase to 117,000 tonnes.

However, Rusal's alumina imports experienced a slight decline, dropping by 1% year-on-year to 867,000 tonnes in January-February 2024. This shift in imports versus exports underscores Rusal's ongoing efforts to enhance its global aluminium market presence amidst fluctuating supply chain dynamics.
