September 17, 2024

Sigma Lithium has shipped its 12th vessel of Quintuple Zero Green Lithium to Japan's Mitsubishi, reinforcing its position as a leading global lithium producer. This marks Sigma’s second sale to Mitsubishi, further strengthening its commercial partnership. The company remains on track to meet its third-quarter production target of 60,000 tonnes of Quintuple Zero Green Lithium, with near-monthly shipments continuing to maintain a steady operational cadence.

The price for this shipment is set at a provisional premium floating price equivalent to 8.25% of Lithium Hydroxide, CIF Shanghai basis, aligning with global market trends. Sigma Lithium plans to diversify its commercial strategy in the fourth quarter, with partnerships across various geographies to enhance its presence in global battery supply chains.

Sigma Lithium has also appointed Rogerio Marchini as Executive Vice President of Corporate Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Rogerio brings over 24 years of experience, including his tenure as CFO of Origo, where he led a significant business transformation. He will be supported by Sigma’s existing finance team, including Caio Araujo and Felipe Peres, as the company moves forward with the expansion of its Greentech Lithium Processing Plant, which will double capacity to 520,000 tonnes of Quintuple Zero Green Lithium.

CEO Ana Cabral emphasized the importance of the deepening partnership with Mitsubishi, which has provided valuable market visibility and helped navigate the seasonal price volatility in the lithium market.
