Falco Resources Establishes Technical and Strategic Committees in Collaboration with Glencore

August 27, 2024

Falco Resources has announced the formation of Technical and Strategic Committees, a move aligned with the Operating Licence and Indemnity Agreement (OLIA) signed with Glencore Canada earlier this year. These committees are intended to ensure the safe and coordinated development, construction, operation, and eventual closure of Falco's Horne 5 Project, particularly in relation to Glencore's Horne Smelter operations.

The Technical Committee will focus on operational parameters to ensure Falco's activities do not interfere with the Horne Smelter. The committee's responsibilities include assessing and minimizing risks to the smelter, implementing necessary mitigation measures, and determining any further monitoring or studies required. The goal is to ensure that Falco's operations are carried out safely and without compromising the smelter's integrity.

The Strategic Committee will serve as a platform for discussing strategic matters related to the project and its interaction with the Horne Smelter. This includes exploring synergies between the operations, engaging with the community and regulatory bodies, and addressing stakeholder concerns. The committee will also facilitate the exchange of information between the parties regarding both the Horne 5 Project and the smelter.

Both committees are composed of professionals with significant experience in areas such as environment, construction, and production, many of whom have already been working together on these projects for several years. This collaboration is expected to play a crucial role in the successful management of the Horne 5 Project in harmony with Glencore’s existing operations.
