Newmont Gets Green Light from PNG’s Securities Commission for Newcrest Acquisition

Newmont Corporation has secured approval from the Securities Commission of Papua New Guinea (SCPNG) to move forward with its intended acquisition of Newcrest Mining Limited. This clearance provides Newmont with the necessary exemptions under PNG capital markets law. In preparation for this integration, Newmont has also initiated the creation of a dedicated Business Unit in PNG. Alwyn Pretorius has been appointed as the Managing Director of this unit and will operate out of Port Moresby.
